Why do preservation planning?

 

1) Identify, before demolition or changes are proposed, what the community wants to protect.

2) Ensure public policies are in line with goals

3) Educate citizens about the value of their heritage

4) Create priorities for preservation activities and policy

5) Measure progress in preserving cultural and historical resources
